Credit history check in Ukrainian banks
According to statistics, 79% of Ukrainian citizens who live in Poland and wish to buy a car in one way or another receive income from business. More often, a commercial company becomes a stable source of high income than an individual entrepreneur. Average declared income is 10,000 in local currency.
According to the data of the border service, after February 24, 2022, 6.6 million citizens of Ukraine fleeing the war entered the territory of Poland. For them, the situation with checking the credit history and buying a car can be more difficult than for people who have been living in Poland for a long time.
To make sure of their solvency, Polish banks are helped by the Credit Information Bureau, which has launched a service for checking the credit history of applicants in the Ukrainian analogue of BIK.
As reported on the BIK website, the service will provide access to information on 25 million borrowers from 150+ financial institutions and 71 banks.
Having studied applications from Ukrainians over the past 24 months, the Carsmile platform analysts concluded that long-term leasing of a new car was of interest to only 30% of people who were thinking about the possibility of buying a car. 70% consider leasing more attractive. Mostly, the situation concerns economic migrants who have built a successful career or business.
How to rent or buy a car for a Ukrainian?
In order to rent or buy a vehicle on credit, you need to provide a PESEL number. If there is none, creditors or landlords may ask for accounting documents or bank statements. Credit history at BIK can also influence the decision.
