Housing rent and utilities

As in most countries of the world, housing rent will become one of the main items of expenditure in your budget. However, its cost can be attributed to the main advantages of living in Cyprus.

Renting a one-room apartment in the central part of a big city will cost 730€ per month, on the outskirts from 600€. For a three-room apartment, you will have to pay from 1200 to 1500€ per month.

The housing stock of Cyprus is represented by both furnished and unfurnished apartments, as well as villas and houses. A large percentage of apartments are located in new buildings. Also, most houses in Cyprus have a shared or private pool.

The lease can be short-term - six months or less, or long-term - 12 months or more. Tenants must pay a deposit of one month's rent before moving in. If the property is returned in good condition at the end of the lease, the deposit must be returned to the tenant in full.

The monthly fee for basic utilities for an 85 square meter apartment, including electricity and heating, will be around 162 euros per month.

Cyprus is a real gastronomic paradise, because the products here are very tasty, and their cost is moderate. The average budget for buying products in Cyprus for a family of 2 people is about 300-350€ per month.

Of course, the freshest products can be bought at local markets. The prices here are quite attractive: drinking water (1.5 l) – 0.7€, fruits and vegetables – from 0.35 to 0.8€ per kg, bread – 1.2€, a bottle of wine – 5€, eggs (10 pieces) - 2€.

Cafes and restaurants in Cyprus

In every city of Cyprus, there are many good cafes and restaurants on the seashore, which treat you to dishes of local and international cuisine.
