• Russia has mined sea routes from the Bosphorus to Odessa, says Andrii Klymenko, co-founder of the Black Sea Institute for Strategic Studies. It is impossible to count mines drifting in the stormy sea.

• The Kremlin failed to achieve its original goals, so they changed the military approach in Ukraine to a strategy of attrition, says the British Ministry of Defense. Exhaustion tactics have been linked to Russia's indiscriminate use of firepower, leading to an increase in civilian casualties, destruction of Ukraine's infrastructure and intensification of the humanitarian crisis. The British Ministry also emphasizes that Putin has strengthened his control over the Russian national media to hide the real state of affairs.

• Russia is using peace talks with Ukraine to regroup, British Defense Secretary Liz Trass told The Times in an interview. She noted that she was skeptical about the Kremlin's goals, because "if the country is serious about negotiations, it will not indiscriminately bomb civilians on this day."

• The Russian army managed to temmporarily deprive Ukraine of access to the Sea of Azov, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces. At the same time, the defense of Mariupol continues. The Ukrainian army is also defending Verkhnotoretske, Krymske, Avdiivka and Taramchuk - hotspots where shelling is constantly taking place. The battles for Rubizhne and Popasna in Luhansk region have not stopped. In other areas, the Russian army did not conduct active hostilities today, as it was forced to resupply, and shelled Ukrainian cities. During the day there were 4 missile strikes and more than 40 air raids.

• Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the Russians have carried out 1403 air raids, said the spokesman of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Oleksandr Motuzyanyk during a briefing. Since the beginning of hostilities, the enemy has fired 291 missiles, 459 ground, naval and air-based missiles have been used.

• Ukraine has become the first country in history to sue under the Convention on the Financing of Terrorism. This was announced by Deputy Foreign Minister Emine Japarova. The Foreign Ministry spokeswoman also said that Ukraine is the second country in the world to sue under the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination. According to her, Georgia has previously sued under this Convention without success.
