Budget airlines usually include only hand luggage in the ticket price. Find out about the current baggage allowance and how to take a large suitcase on Ryanair flights
Summer is the season for vacations and trips abroad, and low-cost airlines have become increasingly popular due to their affordable flights to different cities.
One of the key factors contributing to the popularity of these flights is the inclusion of hand luggage in the ticket fare. However, it's important to note that not everyone can travel with just a small backpack, as many tourists prefer to bring along larger suitcases.
We tell you about the luggage transportation fees and regulations implemented by Ryanair. Additionally, we will guide you on selecting an appropriate suitcase size for your travels.
You can buy train, bus, or plane tickets to/from Ukraine and between cities around the world quickly and easily here.
Ryanair luggage allowance
Basic fares for flights typically include the allowance for passengers to bring one bag or backpack with dimensions measuring 40 cm x 25 cm x 20 cm into the cabin without incurring any additional charges. However, any extra baggage will require payment from the passenger.
Passengers who have chosen the Plus tariff can carry oversized luggage. This tariff includes free transportation of up to 20 kg of luggage.
For airline employees to check in luggage, its size must not exceed 80x120x120 cm. In addition to the size requirements, the airline has set weight limits. A suitcase that weighs more than 32 kg will be treated as baggage subject to separate transportation rules.
Interestingly, passengers who bought tickets within one booking can divide the weight of luggage. So, if the permitted weight for two people is 40 kg, the passengers may share this weight unevenly. Consequently, one person, for example, will take 25 kg of luggage, while another carries 15 kg.
Often tourists are curious whether it is possible to take a laptop in carry-on luggage. Ryanair allows passengers to bring a laptop into the cabin, but it is considered a separate item. This means that passengers can have either a backpack with personal belongings or a laptop bag.

Baggage сost on Ryanair flights
If the passenger bought a ticket with a standard fare, excess baggage must be paid for. There is no price list because the cost is formed by the destination, the time, and the place of payment.
Ryanair offers different tariffs based on the dimensions of the luggage.
Baggage up to 10 kg:
● EUR 12 to 25 for one suitcase during the booking;
● EUR 23.99 to 35.99 while at the airport.
Baggage up to 20 kg:
● EUR 17 to 50 for one suitcase during the booking;
● EUR 39.99 to 59.99 at the airport.
Attempting to take unpaid and unregistered baggage onto the plane will result in a fine of EUR 45.99.
Is it allowed to carry a suitcase weighing more than 20 kg? Yes, Ryanair has this option. For each additional kilogram, the airline will ask a passenger to pay EUR 11.
