The Ministry of Integration of Ukraine has launched a new pilot project to help veterans transition to normal civilian life and receive the assistance they need. Find out who can become an assistant and how to apply for participation in the article below.

Veteran's Assistant: Who is the project for?

This service is designed for veterans and their families who are ready to help other veterans transition from military service to civilian life and gain access to state-guaranteed services and benefits.

This is social support based on the principle of "peer-to-peer". The source of support is a person of equal status, fundamentally similar to the person they are helping.

By sharing knowledge and their own life experiences, helping and empathizing with each other, they build relationships based on the principle of equality. In other words, a person has experienced similar things and can feel and understand the feelings of other people in a similar situation.

Who can participate in the project

It is noted that the project participants can be war veterans or their family members, a family member of a deceased veteran, a family member of a deceased defender of Ukraine, as well as an injured participant in the Revolution of Dignity.

The persons listed above can apply if:

● are registered in the Unified State Register of War Veterans;

● have a junior bachelor's degree or higher

● have a taxpayer registration number

● have a strong desire to be a coordinator of veterans' life in the community.
