Ukrainians abroad will not receive payments from the state from August 1: details
Table of Contents
IDPs who are abroad and continue to receive IDP payments will stop receiving the relevant assistance from the beginning of August. Find out more about what will change
Starting from August 1, 2023, Ukrainians living abroad and receiving payments as internally displaced persons (IDPs) will no longer be able to claim these funds. This was announced by Daryna Marchak, First Deputy Minister of Social Policy, during the national marathon "United News".
Receiving IDP funds for Ukrainians abroad: what will change
Marchak noted that the cancellation of payments was the result of the discovery of information about a significant number of citizens who left Ukraine and settled in other countries, but continued to receive assistance as internally displaced persons.
As a result, starting from August 1, these persons will not receive financial support, as this assistance is exclusively for those who are on the territory of Ukraine.
Resolution No. 709 of July 11, 2023 "Some Issues of Support for Internally Displaced Persons" clarified this parameter, noting that citizens who have been abroad for a long period and have chosen another place for permanent residence are not eligible for state aid.

Also, according to Marchak, state support will be terminated for those Ukrainians who have returned to their place of permanent residence.
To inform citizens of these changes, information will be sent out through various means of communication, such as e-mail, phone calls, etc.
The decision of the Cabinet of Ministers to adopt Resolution No. 709 of July 11, 2023 was a timely step in amending the procedure for assigning accommodation payments to internally displaced persons.
We remind you! The Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine strives to control the distribution of payments and support those who really need help. Recently, the Cabinet of Ministers announced the extension of financial assistance, but not for all IDPs. Read here to find out who will lose state aid and why.
