A full-scale war has been going on in Ukraine for more than a year and a half, which has significantly affected domestic business. In particular, the fighting has forced some companies to relocate to safer regions. We tell you how many businesses have relocated and have already settled in their new places.

According to the data of the Ministry of Economy, cited by "Opendatabot", 840 companies have used the relocation program, of which 667 are already working in a new place.

As it is known, under this program companies can move their facilities from the territories close to or in the war zone to sixteen regions of the country.

Where do companies move most often?

The most popular regions for relocation are Lviv and Zakarpattya regions. 199 and 120 enterprises moved there, respectively.

Also at the top of the list are Lviv, Chernivtsi, Dnipropetrovsk, Khmelnitsky, Ternopil and Kyiv regions.

The least demanded were Odessa region - only 3 businesses, Zhytomyr region - 6 companies, and Kirovograd region - 17.

How does the relocation program work?

To take advantage of the program, you need to submit an application on the platform "Prozorro.Sales". Any enterprise from the regions affected by hostilities can join the program.

When the application is approved, the enterprise will receive a package of state support:

- selection of a location for the enterprise's facilities;

- assistance with transportation to the new location;

- assistance in resettling employees and finding new employees;

- support in restoring logistics, purchasing raw materials and finding markets.

A business can move to one of fourteen regions: Zakarpattya, Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv, Ternopil, Khmelnitsky, Chernivtsi, Vinnitsa, Volyn, Rivne, Kirovograd, Cherkasy, Poltava, Dnipropetrovsk and Kyiv (excluding Kyiv) regions.

Regions close to the fighting are not the only problem for businesses

Ukrainian companies are feeling the shortage of staff due to the protracted war, according to a report by the European Business Association.

More than half of the surveyed companies confirmed that they are already experiencing staff shortages, 33% said they are experiencing it partially and another 12% are not experiencing shortages yet.

The vacancies that the HR community believes are the hardest to close are:

- middle and senior managers (director, supervisor);

- specialist of narrow profile;

- English language specialist;

- marketing specialist, IT specialist, HR, secretary, sales manager;

- lawyer, auditor, advocate, financier, logistician, business analyst;

- engineer, chemist, pharmacist, agronomist, microbiologist;

- fitter, mechanic;

- production personnel;

- store workers: cook, baker, fish developer;

- service personnel;

The situation with staff shortage, as experts say, in particular, is due to the lack of talent, mobilization, the desire of employees to work remotely, as well as the outflow of qualified personnel abroad.
