According to the analysis of the Ukrainian marketplace Dim.ria, the housing rental market in Ukraine underwent certain changes in October. Experts of the analytical center have studied the number of ads and the cost of rented apartments. 


Here is the average cost of renting an apartment in different regions of Ukraine.


How has the cost of rented apartments changed? 


Compared to September 2023, the number of rental ads has increased by 21% in Kyiv and the region. This indicates a certain recovery in the rental market.


It is also important to note a significant increase in supply in Chernivtsi region (by 90%) and Zakarpattia region (by 74%). However, if we consider changes in supply over the past year, the largest decrease in supply is observed in Sumy region, where it decreased by 97%.

Rental prices: how did the cost of housing change in October? 


As for the prices for renting one-bedroom apartments, as of October 2023, the average price in the capital amounted to UAH 17,161, while in the region this price was UAH 9,210. It is important to note that the cost of renting apartments in Kyiv decreased by 19% compared to September 2023.


Among the lowest prices for renting one-bedroom apartments in Kyiv are the Desnianskyi district, where they amount to UAH 8,274. In Darnytskyi and Obolonskyi districts, prices amount to UAH 14,564 and UAH 14,468, respectively. The highest price for renting a one-bedroom apartment is observed in the Pechersk district, where it amounts to UAH 30,264 for a one-bedroom apartment.


Also, over the past month, the cost of renting one-bedroom apartments in Chernihiv and Chernivtsi regions decreased by 28% and 18%, respectively.


A significant increase in prices was recorded in Volyn region, where the cost of renting one-bedroom apartments has increased by 85% since October 2022 and now stands at UAH 11,500.


According to the M2bomber portal, Kyiv has seen a sharp rise in the average cost of renting apartments over the past 6 months. The average rental price has increased by almost UAH 6,500, from UAH 11,142 to UAH 17,500.


In general, the rental housing market in Ukraine shows certain dynamics that vary from region to region and can be attributed to various factors, including housing supply and demand, the economic situation, shelling, etc.
