According to a survey conducted by the Razumkov Center in January 2024, life satisfaction among Ukrainian citizens has decreased compared to the previous year.


Two thousand respondents from the government-controlled territories took part in the survey.


The level of life satisfaction among Ukrainians has fallen below the indicators of 2022


It is noted that participants rated their emotional well-being on a scale from 0 (complete confidence and calmness) to 10 (high level of anxiety and uncertainty).


The average life satisfaction score given by participants in 2022 was 5.2, while in 2024 this figure dropped to 4.7. 


A particular decline was observed in the western part of the country, where the indicator decreased from 6.1 to 4.9. In the south of Ukraine, the lowest life satisfaction was recorded - 3.9.

The results also showed that young people under the age of 30 rated their life satisfaction at 5.1 on average, while people over 60 gave a score of 4.2. In terms of trust in others, 27% of respondents expressed a high level of trust in most people in society, while 62% preferred to be cautious in their relationships.


The average level of psychological well-being of the survey participants in 2024 was 5.9 points, with 25% rating their emotional state from 8 to 10 points, indicating significant anxiety. For comparison, in 2023, the average score for psychological well-being was 5.1 points.
