16 universities in Japan united to support Ukrainian students affected by the war with Russia.

Educational institutions in various Japanese cities will accept about 70 students for short-term study programs of one to two years.

International Christian University, Meiji University, Keio University and others joined this initiative. Successful students are expected to arrive in Japan in August to begin their studies in September.

Study for Ukrainians will be completely free. In addition, students will be provided with plane tickets, accommodation, visa support, and insurance, as well as help in finding a job.

Candidates must meet certain criteria to apply. They must be unmarried, citizens of Ukraine or foreigners who cannot return to their homeland, and be fluent in Japanese or English, among other conditions.

It should be noted that about 2,000 educational institutions were damaged as a result of Russian shelling, and 194 of them were completely destroyed.
