How to apply for unemployment benefits in Ukraine: an algorithm of actions and new amounts
Russian missile attacks on the critical infrastructure of Ukraine continue in an even more ferocious form. The shelling of the occupiers has a critical impact on business, which suffers due to widespread power outages. Businesses are forced to look for ways to stay afloat. However, not everyone is lucky enough to save their business, and this leads to closures and rising unemployment.
According to the data of the State Employment Service, the number of vacancies registered in October fell by half, compared to the same period last year, and is only 32 thousand units.

What benefits does the state offer to the unemployed?
The amount of payments depends on the unemployed person's insurance experience and his average income. Unemployment benefits, depending on the number of years of insurance, cannot be less than the following percentage of the average wage (income) of the unemployed:
• up to 3 years of experience – 50% of income,
• from 3 to 6 years of experience - 55% of the average salary,
• from 6 to 12 years old – 60%,
• from 12 to 18 years old – 65%,
• from 18 to 24 years old – 70%,
• from 24 to 30 years old – 75%,
• over 30 years - 80%.
The aid will be paid as follows:
• 100% of the assigned benefit is paid for the first 90 calendar days;
• within the next 90 days – 80%;
• the remaining time until the cancellation of the status – 70%.
However, according to the new rules, from November this year, unemployed Ukrainians will receive payments for three months instead of six. In Ukraine, the duration and amount of state aid have been changed. On October 29, amendments to the laws "On Employment" and "On Mandatory National Unemployment Insurance" entered into force.
For those who received assistance until October 29, the period of its payment was reduced.
Now, 30 more calendar days are added for the unemployed who, on the date of entry into force of this law, have already received benefits and have received them for more than 90 days. The payment will stop from November 28. Those who did not have 90 days at the time of entry into force of the law will cease on the 91st calendar day.
According to the new rules, the amount of the maximum benefit has been reduced from 9,700 hryvnias to the minimum wage - 6,500 hryvnias.
