List of documents for entry into Ukraine
Citizens of Ukraine can freely enter the territory of our state. For entry, you will need a valid foreign passport or identity card for returning to Ukraine.
Rules for leaving the country of receiving temporary protection
If your entry to Ukraine is temporary and you plan to return to Europe again, you must follow the rules for leaving the country of residence:
- Ukrainians living in the EU on the basis of a visa-free regime
The visa-free regime between the EU and Ukraine provides that Ukrainians can stay in the Schengen area for no more than 90 days within a 180-day period. Therefore, before returning, check whether your stay does not exceed the permissible number of days.
- Ukrainians who have obtained temporary protection status in the EU
The majority of Ukrainians currently living abroad have obtained the status of temporary protection. It does not prohibit Ukrainians from visiting the Motherland, however, the stay in Ukraine should not exceed a certain period, the duration of which depends on the country of protection, usually from 30 days to 6 months.
Before traveling, make sure that you have fully completed the temporary protection procedure, received the necessary stamps, passports and that your permit is valid. Also, if necessary, notify the relevant social services of your absence.

Security rules in Ukraine
When traveling in Ukraine during the war, you should follow two main safety rules:
A curfew is a time imposed to maintain law and order. Usually, the curfew lasts from 11:00 p.m. until 05:00 a.m. the next day. During this period, it is not possible to be in public places and to move through the streets by transport or on foot. You can find out the duration of the curfew in the region of stay by following the link.
An air alert is a signal that sounds when a missile threat is announced. The authorities and the military always warn of a possible missile attack. To inform the public, they use the "Air Alarm" signal, which can be heard on city streets, and special mobile applications. In the event of a missile threat, you should go to the nearest shelter and wait for the strike.
Also, when planning a trip to a country under martial law, you should take care of an insurance policy that covers the indemnification of war-related risks. Insure your health and life in order to receive financial compensation in the event of an insured event. There are no age restrictions. Military risk insurance is a guarantee of your protected stay on the territory of Ukraine. Apply for reliable insurance quickly and easily using the link.
