What is the resolution about?
- Stray animals will be caught and vetted;
- Animals will be vaccinated and sterilized;
- Data about the animal and its photos will be entered in a special register;
- The animal will be passed to a shelter to find an owner;
- If the animal is returned to the place of capture, it will be vaccinated annually and monitored.
The Ministry of Environment is convinced that such humane measures will help reduce the prevalence of various diseases that can pose a danger to humans, and at the same time protect animals from cruelty.
Ruslan Strelets, the Minister of Environment and Natural Resources commented that the Ministry had started the policy of reducing the number of homeless animals before the full-scale war and would follow suit in the future.
