The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted a draft law "On the establishment of legal and social guarantees for citizens of the Republic of Poland on the territory of Ukraine."
The new law will provide for special rights and freedoms for Polish citizens on an equal footing with Ukrainian citizens.
In particular, citizens of Poland, their spouses, and children (regardless of citizenship) who entered Ukraine from the territory of the Republic of Poland for a temporary stay, as well as their children born on the territory of Ukraine, will have the right to:
1. Legal stay on the territory of Ukraine for 18 months
2. Employment without additional permits (including scientific, pedagogical, and medical workers)
3. Doing business with the same rights as Ukrainians
4. Social payments, including cases of disability, loss of a breadwinner, unemployment, disability, etc.
5. Free education and scholarships
6. Medical assistance on the same rights as Ukrainians
7. State registration as taxpayers and obtaining the registration number of a taxpayer's registration card
Recall that the "mirror" bill was submitted to the Rada by the President of Ukraine in May as a thank you to the people of Poland for accepting Ukrainian refugees.
