Fraudsters continue to hunt for "easy" money, and recently new types of fraud have emerged in Poland that can lead to the loss of money from bank accounts and personal data. Learn more about how to avoid falling victim to fraud
New fraud methods have been discovered in Poland that can lead to the loss of funds from bank accounts. The Computer Security Incident Response Team of the Financial Sector of Poland (CSIRT KNF) has issued a special warning about these threats, yavp.pl reports.
Fake SMS and advertising in Poland: what is known about new scams
The main type of fraud that has become active in Poland is to send fraudulent messages and advertisements aimed at extracting bank card data when placing orders on unsafe websites.
One of these schemes involves sending SMS messages posing as notifications on behalf of a well-known Polish bank.
"We are warning about a new phishing campaign that pretends to be from ING Polska. The criminals send fake SMS messages stating that the access to the bank's mobile application has expired. The link in the SMS goes to a dangerous website where, in addition to bank credentials, fraudsters extract PESEL numbers and payment card information. Be careful and don't be fooled," the CSIRT KNF warning emphasizes.
You should also be cautious about fake advertising from various companies. For example, it is noted that in the name of the Polish airline LOT, fraudsters offer to buy lost luggage at very attractive prices.

"After that, you may be invited to take part in a short survey, but the real goal is to get your payment card information. Be careful and don't be fooled," warns CSIRT KNF.
Additionally, criminals are also trying to sell fake Wroclaw and Warsaw city transport cards on Facebook at attractive prices.
Be careful, because the link contained in the posts redirects to websites that try to extract bank card data.
In addition, as we approach Black Friday, fraudsters resort to deception by imitating a well-known clothing store and offering big discounts. Links from such messages also lead to websites where they try to steal card data.
We remind you! Earlier we wrote that parliamentary elections were held in Poland.
