Internally displaced persons whose place of residence is registered in housing in the temporarily occupied territories may change their registration. Here are the changes.

According to the IDP government resolution, Ukraine has approved the procedure for declaring and registering a place of residence (stay).

Thus, a person can have only one declared or one registered place of residence (stay) at a time.

However! For the period of temporary occupation of the territories, these provisions do not apply to persons whose place of residence is registered in housing located in the temporarily occupied territories.

Importantly, such a person may declare or register their place of residence without deregistering their place of residence.

In this case, the register of the host territorial community includes information about the registered place of residence of the internally displaced person in the temporarily occupied territories.

People can also change their place of IDP registration online

Earlier, new services for IDPs were made available on the Diia portal. Now, people can change their IDP residence or cancel their status online.

You will need this service if:

- you have moved to another city in Ukraine;

- returned home.

Both services are automatic. This means that the process takes place without the participation of a civil servant and you no longer need to wait for his or her decision. But there are also a few nuances. We will tell you about them here.

We remind you! Since the beginning of the full-scale war, a huge number of Ukrainian citizens have been forced to move from their hometowns and villages to other parts of the country, radically changing their lives. Currently, 4.8 million internally displaced persons (IDPs) are officially registered in Ukraine. However, the actual number of IDPs is many times higher. In this article, we will tell you what benefits refugees can receive at their new place of residence.
