Immediately, two European countries announced the abolition of additional tests for fully vaccinated tourists entering the country – Greece and Portugal.

It seems that the recommendation of the European Commission is beginning to be heeded, despite the fact that the number of daily cases of the disease in Ukraine is not decreasing.

Rules of entry into Greece

From December 19, 2021, the only requirement for crossing the Greek border for all visitors over 5 years of age (regardless of the country of arrival and vaccination or recovery status) is to present a negative PCR test or rapid antigen test.

On Friday, February 4, Greek Health Minister Thanos Pleuris said the country was lifting the requirement for vaccinated travelers – such citizens will not be required to arrive on February 7.

Instead, tourists arriving in Greece will be required to present a valid digital covid certificate (for Ukrainians it is Diia) valid for 7 months from the date of the last vaccination.

The PLF must also be completed 24 hours before entry. Confirmation of filling in the electronic form of the PLF, which is automatically sent by the passenger's system by e-mail, is considered a necessary travel document at any point of entry.

Rules of entry into Portugal

The current rules for crossing the Portuguese border are valid until February 9, 2022. However, the Government has stated that negative tests will no longer be required for travelers who present an EU digital covid certificate in any of its forms or other recognized evidence of vaccination. There is no exact official date for the cancellation of additional tests yet, but it is hoped that this will happen from February 9.

To enter Portugal, you also need to fill out the Passenger Locator Card – after "check-in" on the flight, but before boarding the plane.
